Wilailuck's Background

Hello, everybody. My name is Wilailuck Pantong, Business Development Assistant at Skywave Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd, a German IT company located in Bangkok. Actually, I started working here as a Junior Admin Officer, and I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve received from the company for my career development

I live in Bangkok, Thailand, since I was young until now. You might expect that I know every corner in Bangkok, but sorry to say that I don’t 😊

Most of the time in my teenage life was about working and studying.

When I was in university, my passion at that time was to be able to take responsibility for my own expenses. Therefore, I decided to take a part-time job from the first year of my college life.

I got a part-time job as a Promotion Girl (PG) for a smartphone brand. I needed to work at a certain supermarket on weekends or sometimes went to Mobile Expo Exhibition. However, it was not a regular part-time job, only a job from time to time depending on the marketing campaign from the brand. So, I looked for a new part-time job that could offer me a longer contract. 🙂

I was introduced to similar type of part-time jobs called “Product Consultant or PC” and “Beauty Advisor or BA.” Of course, I worked at a supermarket on weekends! But it was a 2-4 months contract. I switched to work between PC and BA, depending on the products and the campaigns at that time. For example, working as a PC for household and healthcare products for 4 months. After the contract ended, I switched to a BA for beauty and cosmetics products.

Be Part of Digital Business Women Thailand Project

Before working here at Skywave Technologies, I was just an ordinary girl who never dreamed of working in the business community as a “Business Woman.” As you can see from my background, I never got involved in any business community before. So, it was very challenging for me. Everything is different from the world I used to live in before, and I’ve learned how powerful it is “Being Digital and Being Supported.”

As a new face in the business community, I’ve received generous support and opportunities from my boss, Anja Heck, CEO of Skywave Technologies and the founder of Digital Business Women Thailand. She brought me to DBWT and I’ve been part of the project since then. 😊

I’ve got a chance to meet many amazing business people from various global organizations in different industries and positions through the DBWT community, which are not easy to get to know and to speak to in everyday life, especially if they’re a senior or a decision-maker.

When I was a BA for one of the worldwide beauty brands called L’Oreal. I was not even an employee of L’Oreal company but only a part-time student who was outsourced by some marketing agency to promote the products. But how can you imagine, I’ve got a chance to connect and cooperate with one of the directors at L’Oreal Thailand, Ms. Onanong (Ying), Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Director, and DMC Mentor.

From an unknown part-time girl to direct connection. 😊

Digital Leaders of the Future - A Safe & Supportive Place for Career Development

As a businesswoman, the most challenging part for me was ‘Networking.’ I’ve never attended this kind of events before, and at my first time I was struggling a lot. So, my team encouraged me to join more events alone which was very helpful and led me to be more confident.

Throwback to our first DBWT Meetup last year, during the time at the event, it made me realize how essential it is for staying in the right place!

The place where everybody is ready to support, encourage and empower you to overcome your fear and believe in yourself. I could notice easily that all seniors and DMC mentors tried to send their positive vibes to make a junior businesswoman like me feel more relaxed and confident to speak up. Honestly, it was not that easy for me at that time to grab the microphone and share my stories!

It was very impressive when everybody there kept encouring each other without any judgement. 😊

After the event had passed, my colleague and I had the same thoughts and feelings that…
‘It would be so nice if other young ladies have a chance to receive that kind of support like us to help them grow up like we are having!’

We agreed that we really need to do something, to expand this great opportunity to the young generation who are seeking support for their career development.

And we get support from our boss to contribute the new initiative, Digital Leaders of the Future or DLFwhich is a very great start for every junior in the business community to have the opportunities.

If you are new in your career, love to contribute innovative ideas to build our ‘DLF Community,’ you’re invited to join us!
