Hi Hailey, please briefly introduce yourself. What is your creative story behind the nickname ‘Hailey’?

Hi! I’m Hailey, a Recruitment Consultant at JacksonGrant Recruitment. I mainly focus on the Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Industrial sectors. I’ve been working in this field for about two and a half years. As for my nickname, “Hailey,” I’ve been using it since high school. It comes from a character in a Thai novel. Initially, I used this name only with my foreign friends, but as I started working and collaborating with international clients, it became the name everyone calls me—“Hailey.”

What made you choose a career in recruitment, what is most enjoyable?

I enjoy talking to people. Every time I interact with someone, I learn something new—whether it’s about their professional work, business insights, or even their personal life. When candidates trust me, they consult with me, and I can help them find opportunities that align with their goals. That’s the most fulfilling part of this job for me.

What is most challenging, and how did you overcome it?

Working in recruitment feels like being on a roller coaster. There are ups and downs—sometimes it feels like you’re only going down—but eventually, you go back up. This dynamic is part of the challenge and what I enjoy most. Since we work with people, the key is understanding that you can’t control everything. Focus on what you can control and accept what you can’t. That mindset helps me navigate the challenges of this job.

What steps do you take to make sure your recruitment processes are fair and inclusive for candidates from all backgrounds?

I focus on unbiased communication, avoiding judgment, and maintaining an open-minded attitude with both clients and candidates. It’s about understanding their needs and then strategizing, consulting, sometimes educating, and consistently communicating to ensure everyone is aligned.

Why is diversity and inclusion important in the workplace, especially in recruitment, from your perspective?

In my opinion, recruitment is all about working with people, and people are diverse—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Studies show that diverse teams consider multiple viewpoints, which reduces groupthink and leads to better decision-making. This highlights the importance of diversity and inclusion in our work.

What digital tool or application do you use daily in your work, and why would you recommend it to other professionals?

JacksonGrant always sources and adopts new digital tools and technologies to streamline our work and make our jobs efficient. Using AI has been particularly helpful, especially for administrative tasks. One tool we use regularly is “Read.AI,” which helps us focus on the conversation during online meetings by automatically taking notes.

What are your inspiring messages to DBWT?

“Celebrate every win, no matter how small.” Sometimes, we get so focused on chasing big outcomes—whether in our personal lives, careers, or anything else—that we forget to acknowledge the small wins along the way. Those little steps we take matter, too. When we don’t recognize them, it’s easy to feel discouraged and think we’ll never reach the finish line. So, take a moment to appreciate the small things you’ve achieved. Celebrate them, because every little win is still a win, and it brings you closer to where you want to be.
